The Adjustment Bureau

Your Path, Fate, Future, World Has Been Adjusted

What would you do if everything has been adjusted for you? Life would feel kinda sucks, aint it? Don't worry. Things being adjusted doesn't mean you know every single one of them. But still, you would know there are some do's and don'ts in your so called 'adjusted' life.

The movie starts off as a young, audacious politician David Norris (Matt Damon) is running for the senate of New York. Due to unknown reason (yet), he met an unforgettable and amazing woman, Elise Sellas (Emily Blunt) just before he's going to deliver his speech after he lost the poll. The awkward moment of having to accidentally meet someone new suddenly turned to a love-like moment. Right that moment, he felt that this is the only woman he would ever loved. This woman is like none he's ever known. But when fate seems to brought them together again, David has to face the ugly truth: There are agents of Fate -The men of The Adjustment Bureau- who will do everything they could to keep David and Elise apart.

The story soon unfold its mysteries. David has to make a harsh decision. To let her go and accept the predetermined path for him, or to risk everything and rebel against the agents. All plans are made by The Chairman, and The Chairman controls everything via the hands of the agents. When all seems impossible, David got a helping hand from a very resourceful guy. He helped David to know the tricks -nothing more; nothing less- until finally David made up his mind.

It's been a while (at least for me) from the last time I see Matt Damon played romance-kind of movies like this. Yes, we all know that everyone knows about his spectacular trilogy-The Bournes. From Bourne's Identity, Supremacy until Ultimatum, he brought us an action packed + thriller trilogy. In this movie, though, it doesn't mean he completely lose that black ops-coolness behind and go all out in to drama. Him doing this movie, it's just like a perfect fit for David Norris. You'd know, once you watched movies like Iron man or X-Men: Origins. That multimillionaire playboy fits like a glove to Robert Downey Jr. just like Wolverine to Hugh Jackman. And for Damon's girl, Emily Blunt acts in a very splendid manner. Although, there are some scenes that *cough* she didn't do by herself.

Anyway, I guess I'm gonna do some reviews on The Bournes. I got three of 'em, alright. Let's see if I can make some time to watch them. Meanwhile, feast your eyes on the case book this time!

Angel-A

André: Who'd be dead if I hadn't saved you?
Angel-A: Who'd be dead if there wasn't anyone to save?

Alright, what's up folks? today I'm gonna give you something nostalgic, something that goes wayyyyy back when I was just a regular guy in movies. This one is an antique, or perhaps not that antique. Yes, it is, folks! Angel-A! Take your french side out!

The movie is centered on an inept scam artist called André Moussah (Jamel Debbouze) who is in huge trouble. He owes a lot of people money, and he couldn't even pay them. He's broke, he doesn't have anyone (no, literally, anyone.) to help him or to just be with him. All that he had is a place to live in America, and he is in France. When it seems like there's no hope at all, he chooses to take what would be the most logical decision: he suicides. He goes to Seine river, and tries to kill himself by jumping from the bridge. But, when he is about to jump, he notices a tall, beautiful girl was standing on the bridge, trying to do the same thing just like what he about to do. Out of a sudden, she jumps! André is shocked and jumps into the river to save her.

André saved her, and later on, this girl reveals herself as Angel-a (Rie Rasmussen), and she helps André along the way. She teaches André to love himself, and to stop lying. To have André live his life to the fullest, to be free. André, on the other hand, began to love himself and Angel-a. Even at first he didn't trust 'her whereabouts'.

Angel-A brings you a whole different picture of the life; how it works. Not only it will give you life for dummies: 101, but also a twist of how things could happen. You see, it's all there. We live by a cause, and for a cause; To love and be loved in return. Jamel Debbouze's act is as usual, marvelous. His other roles like in Amélie or Days of Glory can't be matched in this one. Not to mention the angelic Rie Rasmussen. She really brings her character to the max. Most of the time in the movie are just incredible. Oh, and have i told you that Director Luc Besson brings this movie in a noir way of view? Yes, he did. he brought Paris to its best.

So i guess, this is the time for me to end my sermon. Take a leap of faith, folks. And watch this movie right away.

The Matrix Reloaded

For IMDb Reference:
[The Matrix Reloaded] IMDb Link

Reload before the revolution begins.

The Matrix Reloaded! yay! It's the second part of the trilogy, which is as we know, stunning. the second presents to us a wide and blatant truth about The Matrix itself. And because this is the second part of the trilogy, expect to see more of Neo (Keanu Reeves), Trinity (Carrie-Anne Moss), and Morpheus (Laurence Fishburne) in act.

The movie sets at 6 months after the events depicted in The Matrix. Neo has proved himself to be a good omen for the free humans, as more and more humans are being freed from the matrix and brought to Zion, the one and only stronghold  and sanctum of the Resistance. Neo himself has discovered his superpowers including super speed, ability to see the codes of the things inside the matrix and a certain degree of precognition. But a shocking news hits the human resistance: 250,000 machine sentinels are digging to Zion and would reach them in 72 hours. As Zion prepares for the ultimate war, Neo, Morpheus and Trinity are advised by the Oracle to find the Keymaker who would help them reach the Source. Meanwhile Neo's recurrent dreams depicting Trinity's death have got him worried and as if it was not enough, Agent Smith has somehow escaped deletion, has become more powerful than before and has become an anomaly to the system like Neo. Agent Smith has fixed Neo as his next target. Will the mankind survive the machine's massive army? Could they even hold out their own grounds?

In this movie, the works of Wachowski Brothers deserves another thumbs-up. If you watched this movie now, you'll be able to see the animated computer graphic. But in its era, this movie is a WOW. I mean, you know that you can watch something like Transformers now, in which the CGI is wayyy too great. The Matrix Reloaded will provide you with their latest CGI, and that is around 2003. And yes, we'd have another look at Neo, Morpheus, and Trinity, and also, some new faces, like Captain Niobe (Jada Pinkett Smith) and Persephone (Monica Bellucci), who moved the movie the awesomeness of this movie to the max. Come on, who doesn't know about the goddess Monica Bellucci. Read her bio on wikipedia, and you'll see why she is a goddess. :p This movie may not gives you action all the time, but it's worth watching if you want to fully understand the storyline of the trilogy.

I need to reload! haven't slept for two days, this is nearly my limit.... bye folks!

The Matrix

For IMDb Reference :
[The Matrix] IMDb Link

In a world of 1s and 0s...are you a zero, or The One?

Right, so now it's The Matrix turn. You know, where the world had collapsed right before our eyes? Where mankind could hardly survive? Keanu Reeves starred this movie and this trilogy became a big break for him. It's very popular although years had passed. I mean, what will you do if you live in an artificial reality and you aren't really living it?

Thomas A. Anderson (Keanu Reeves) is a man living two lives. By day he is an average computer programmer and by night a hacker known as Neo. Neo has always questioned his reality, but the truth is far beyond his imagination. Neo finds himself targeted by the police when he is contacted by Morpheus (Lawrence Fishburne) , a legendary computer hacker branded a terrorist by the government. Morpheus awakens Neo to the "real" world, a ravaged wasteland where most of humanity have been captured by a race of machines that live off of the humans' body heat and electrochemical energy and who imprison their minds within an artificial reality known as The Matrix. The humans who survived live in the tunnels, sewers to the machine's civilization. As a rebel against the machines, Neo must return to the Matrix and confront the agents: super-powerful computer programs devoted to snuffing out Neo and the entire human rebellion.

Well, I don't mean to offend any other movie but I'll give this one a straight A. It's a very amazing combination about the end-of-the-world theme and the twist of reality. Our world is coming to their era, the era of the machines. It's like having a slap on your face, from someone who knew what is our world gonna be. OMG, but Keanu Reeves, Laurence Fishburne, and Carrie-Anne Moss act perfectly well. I don't have any reason to say any bad things to them! as usual, wachowski Brothers gave us a good movie to think to.

Well, I'm off. I gotta go into the Matrix, to find the lady in red. You know what I mean.

Gamer

Who's playing you?

Wooho! It's Gerard Butler! Yes-siree, this one angry spartan plays in this movie : Gamer. Don't get me wrong but I'm not a big fan of Gerard Butler. I'm just an ordinary fan, since most of his movies are good :). This movie is a perfect movie for youngsters, especially those who like to play games. Oh, I almost forgot. Ludacris also plays in this movie, as an idealist rebellious guy. Check this out.

In the near future, technology is superb. Everything is controlled by technology. A man named Ken Castle (Michael C. Hall) invented the coolest technology of all: a world called Society. You are not controlling virtual characters. You are controlling someone to interact in Society. But what makes it different to our technology, is that they use nanex. It's a nano cell planted into you motor cortex, and the nano cell will copy the data it brought to the whole brain. So basically, YOU are not yourself. When they got it, people will have their own distinct Ip address (kinda creepy huh), So that the player can control the character just the way they want (and it's not virtual, it's real people!). Kinda makes you think, which one is 'real'. John Tillman a.k.a Kable (Gerard Butler), is a convict who is falsely accused for murder. He got the chance to save himself by playing 30 consecutive rounds of a death game, called Slayers. Slayers is also invented by Ken Castle, and the game provides a get-out-of-jail ticket for everyone in prison if he/she can survive throughout the game. The system in Slayers is similar to Society-it's just that in Slayers, people play the game by playing characters, as in the convicts. and Kable, is played by a rich top player kid named Simon Silverton (Logan Lerman). Kable has to make his own way out of the game, in order to save his family.

Actually, the movie is great. The storyline, the cast, and the whole idea of the movie deserves an A. I mean, where else would you find a movie, which will bring the viewers the thrill of playing a game? The danger of not being in control, and what will it give to you if all you think is just to satisfy your guilty pleasure? This movie brought an important idea for us: Be yourself. And yes, as you can guess, justice always win. I hate to say this but when I watched the movie, I can think of the outcome after the big turn-around scene. The idea is great, but it doesn't work that way in the flow of the movie. The actors and actresses in this movie are decent, but I think they can go more than that. Kable's got it in the part where he had to shoot his friend. The kind of emotion you'll rarely found in movies. Watch it to uncover how Humanz bust the Society, and the turnarounds.

Well, I've given you one more movie to watch on weekends. I just might try that nanex. Who knows who's playing me.

Constantine

For IMDb reference :

John Constantine: So when a half-breed breaks the rules, I deport their sorry ass straight back to hell. I don't get them all, but I've been hoping to get enough to ensure my... retirement.
Angela Dodson: I don't understand.
John Constantine: I'm a suicide, Angela. When I die, the rules say I've got just one place to go...
Angela Dodson: You're trying to buy your way into heaven.
John Constantine: What would *you* do if you were sentenced to a prison where half the inmates were put there by you?

Well, It's been a long time since my last movie review. Now that I got some good internet connections I'll be writing more and more movies. This movie is about things as it is, not as u should or ever learn. And also, happens to be the one I know and I understand. I prefer not to believe this one, since I already know a higher path.

So now, we got a cool demon hunter, called Constantine, John Constantine (Keanu Reeves). He was born with the ability to see things that should not be seen. In another words, he can see, and walk to another dimension. this gift/curse is something he doesn't favor in, and it made him kinda skeptic about things. He met Angela Dodson (Rachel Weisz), who is a detective at the local precinct. these two are trying to uncover the mysteries in this world, and surely some will make you stop and re-think about your beliefs. When an angel, or a demon walks right next to you, will you know it? This movie is about the big war between God and Satan, and we're just a huge flock of sheep in-between. It may not sounds reliable, but it is. :)

Right, so this movie is a comic-book based, Hellblazer. They changed the movie title because it sounds similar to Hellboy and they went out one after another. So to avoid people from misunderstanding, they changed the name to Constantine. John Constantine IS a heavy smoker, since he smoke 30 cigarettes a day since he were 15. He's dying due to lung cancer. Sadly, he ain't got much time left. He also got an apprentice in this movie, named Chas Kramer (Shia Labeouf). But it won't be like Batman and Robin. Chas doesn't go out often, since all the gig is done mostly by John. Angela Dodson here, plays as a devout Christian. Well, she, strangely found her way intertwined with John, in order to solve the case of her twin sister's death. You know, if you really do read the comics, this movie is quite different. Some changes are made here and there to make this movie suitable to the situation. But, that happens a lot in this business.

Anyway, what is there to criticize? The plot is great, and the effects, too. the actors and actress played well in this movie. Although it's kinda lack in character details, it's nice. I mean, you won't get to know a lot about Chas and some other actors. And it seems that there are some glitches in the movie. Just look harder. :) To be honest, if you want to look for some faith-shocking action, I would recommend The Da Vinci Code, but since it's kinda hard to understand, just watch this movie.

Well, that's it folks. after a long rest, I just might write a lot. I even wondered if someone happen to aim a Dragon Breath at me, will I write faster? lol

Law Abiding Citizen

[Law Abiding Citizen] IMDb Link

Clyde Shelton : In my experience, Nick, lessons not learned in blood are soon forgotten.

I’m a law abiding citizen.  But what happens if I act otherwise? Well, Law Abiding Citizen is a movie which tells us something that everyone has but one; sense of justice. So buckle up, Gerard Butler will present to you, a revolution of the corrupted system. Oh, Jamie Foxx will also make you feel as if you are in the court, and you’re the one being accused. Well, you know what it is. Expect the good guy-bad guy routine.

Let me ask you something. What will you do if someone breaks into your house, rob everything and kill everyone you loved? I’ll be mad if it’s me. And that also happens to Clyde, the lead actor of this movie. His justice is now vengeance. Not only to the people who kill he dears, but also to the justice itself which lost its true meaning. The fusion of a mastermind and the hands to do the dirty work, make a dangerous combination added to vengeance in which he already had, fueling his life. He would have committed a perfect crime, within the bars. Without no one ever knowing a slightest clue about what he were about to do. Nick Rice, on the other hand, as the supporting pillar of the system, is trying really hard to figure out the big picture. The killings, the conspiracy, seem indefinable. You might want to check your security system first before going to sleep tonight, who knows Clyde might show up.

Yup, it's the same revenge plot. One guy lost everything, then afterwards he came up with a super plan and kill everyone. LoL. Well, you can guess that since the beginning of the movie, but the action is nothing bu unimaginable. Believe, you'll be shock when you are able to see the blueprint. It's a perfect crime. Doing bad thing for the sake of good thing. Sounds funny, but it is. Throughout the movie, you might come up with 'How come?' or 'That's impossible!' kind of thing. But it's happening. Gerard Butler, needless to say plays his best in this one, just like in 300. Then again, it also teaches us one thing in which easily forgotten; Justice always wins. But of course, if it happens otherwise, the spartan would win the gamble he had.

Now it's my time to avenge the time I've spent for work. Gonna write about 4 movies. See you in prison
